The Process
The aerobic treatment system process consists of the following phases:
Pre-treatment stage to remove large solids and other undesirable substances from the wastewater.
Aeration stage where oxygen is introduced creating an environment for the growth of aerobic bacteria which digest the biological wastes in the wastewater.
Settling stage to allow any undigested solids to settle. This matter is called activated sludge which is returned to the aeration chamber to be remixed.
Disinfecting stage where chlorine or similar disinfectant is mixed with the water, to produce an antiseptic output.
